The day before I left for Georgia for the wedding, I threw everything I owned in a pile in the living room of Adam and I's future apartment. The place needed some major love, so we started house warming boot camp. We got almost everything fixed and in it's place in three and a half months.

If I had to name 10 most fun days of my life this would be one of them. I was SO happy for these high school sweet hearts. The wedding was at Serenbe right outside of Atlanta, GA and was the perfect setting for Ginny and Ed's 20's inspired wedding.

Part-Time Studios

The other BIG change for Adam and I has been moving our studio! The Part Time studios crew really earned an upgrade from our unheated dirty warehouse (R.I.P) and we got one! We feel soooo spoiled in our gallery/workspace. Everyone has gotten so much more work done, all within the company of good friends.

Architect Jason Shlabach and Interior Designer Claire Zeigler, some brainiac friends of ours helped us be smart about lay out. Thanks guys!

Here is an image from our engagement photo shoot. This was SUCH a fun day. Murphy, broken legged Josh, Chap, Maura Grace, Mrs. Sandy, and Adam and I set this up in the corn field right down the street from the Smith farm. A day I will never forget.

Well the PA kiddos were soo lucky to have some fun friends Emily Cox and Paul Isabella come to visit! To get into the coming harvest season Haylie Bird, Katie Miller, the guests, and me all went a-apple pickin. Boy was it fun. It was so nice to be out in the orchard snacking on all the apples.

Who know what that means? Anyways so I know it's been awhile yet again since I posted anything on here. Life is just busy busy busy! I have so much to catch up on but stay tuned it's on the way.

First things first, I once again returned to good ol' Savannah to see my momma for her birthday. (I went a week early) We had the best time just relaxing, drinkin sweet tea (which I can no longer handle at full strength), watching cheesy movies, eating at funny Pooler resturants, and painting cute Christmas houses. It was by far the best trip home I've had...too short as usual. The family even got together on Sunday before I left. Here are some shots of some good lookin chillrens. They seem so sweet in pictures...don't be fooled. just joshin'

Tea Party at the Zoo

On April 25th Maura, Adam, and myself celebrated our birthdays at one of the most amazing nights yet up here in Philadelphia...the fun level was VERY high and I LOVE fun. Thanks to all the sweet folks that traveled from New York and other places just to be apart of the evening. You made the birthday girl's and boy's night so special. Part-time Studios

I know the most amazing people...you know folks that make things happen. About 9 of my friends and I lead by a couple real go-getters have rented 2,000 square feet of a an old fishtown warehouse to work in. Together we have such an diverse group of amazing talent I can't wait for the creative stew to start a-boilin'! Here are some photos of our building and cleaning day. Mr. Brad (Adam's daddy) was an amazing foreman. With his help we were able to do almost everything in one day...a very long day.

Savannah

This is late....
I once again returned home from great white north....Spring is by far the best time to be in Savannah. Flowers are blooming all over the city and the weather is AMAZING. It was way too fast of a trip as usual. I spent a lot of time with my much missed mother, met an AMAZING dog that made me laugh for about 3 hours, saw the sweetest (literally) new home I've ever been in, hit the Savannah food spots, and laid in the sunshine, played with some south land pals.....Oh how I do love that place.

I spent a nice Easter Day with my family.

One of my former fellow @home employes got one of the most exciting tattoos I have ever set my eyes upon....thought it needed to be shared.

I came home the other day to discover Haylie had decorated our mantel for spring! Even put together our amount of spring decor is minimal, but she made it is amazing and super cute...and made me sooo ready for warm sunny weather spring time brings. I'm really looking forward to exploring this city after coming out of winter hibernation.

A Real Room

After almost five months I now have a room that is moved into and is not painted "Holiday Inn" maroon and hot pink...(what were they thinking?) It still needs some work, but for a person who really needs a nest it's just perfect for now.

Finally I was able to return to NYC. I've lived in Philly since October and still have only been once! Ryan, Haylie, and I took the bus ride over for an amazing weekend. We have so many fun folks to visit there...some of my most favorite people! I got to see almost everyone, even some surprise guests. It's always really hard to leave that magical place. Thanks for all the hospitality and fun everyone.

The 6ers

Since the craziness of moving, finding a job, and ACC has finally come to a close, I took about 2 weeks off from my own work to breath and have some FUN. The past couple weeks I have really started to like livin' up here. I see Adam Smith way more and Ryan Jahn is Haylie and I's entertainment committy. He makes everything fun.

On one of these crazy nights of fun Adam, Lyds, Ryan, Haylie, and I decided to be serious Philly sports fans at the 76er's game....in the all you can eat section...where ryan had no control over his hotdog intake.

So sorry it's been so long since my last post! The American Craft Council 2008 show is over again. Thankgoodness. Now it's time to relax and then fill some orders. Finally, Finally, Haylie and Halli have....a couch. Sweet Maura Grace found an amazing couch for Haylie and I for $10.00...WOW. Her and her wonderfully sweet hubby Chap also rented a truck and delivered the couch to us. What a treat. Thanks so much to the both of you.

New Years Day Close Call

Hello everyone. it's Friday morning. One of my favorite times of the week. It's my time to get up early, make my house warm, sit on the couch, blog, and drink coffee before my long day in the studio begins. Ahhh, a break.

This post is alittle delayed but I still am going to share:
Reason #1,000,000 I am so glad to live with another Southern bell. On new years day in the South you eat black eyed peas for good luck. Everyone does it! (I should do some research on that.hmmm) I had almost forgotten to eat my peas till Haylie remembered and saved us from a whole 365 days of misfortune. Haylie made the most delicious black eyed pea salad I have ever eaten. It was amazing! It is also a tradition in my family to eat greens on the first day of the year to ensure finical luck. Thank goodness my mom smuggled some in my suitcase from my trip home. Haylie wasn't a big fan but she poked some in so not to be poor this year.

A Country New Years Eve

The evening was spent crafting up some party hats, sitting by the campfire, smore makin', and drinking some new years beverages. It was also Murphs birthday celebration. Happy Bday Murph! I don't really know the purpose of my blog except to show my friends a family what my life looks like, and what makes me happy visually and happy in general. I'm sure it's funny to most how much I love taking photos of mine and Haylie's appartment. I've never had a place of my very own before! AND lucky enough for me Haylie and I love many of the same things. Here is a glimpse into our kitchen and bath.

Haylie and I purchased these plates in Richmond, VA on our move up to PA. She is the yellow bear and I am the pink bunny with a tissue.

Returning to Philly was a bit harder than expected. Even though I did miss Mr. Smith it was hard be back. I had to jump straight into ACC craft show work (which means I don't leave my studio) and Haylie was still in Florida. In an extra mopey moment I remembered Sheryl and Griff had sent me home with a bag of goodies. They are the sweetest most caring of folks. And with a cup of coffee and some of Griff's homemade chocolate biscotti my sad mood disappeared. The taste of home and the healing power of a friend's treat. Thanks to you both. Miss yall.

Christmas Day

Nowhere in America can people cook like those folks in the South, and holidays are where they shine. Dressing, collards, sweet potato souffle, cornbread (from scratch), and pecan pie. We serve things right out the pot off the stove.

My mother pretty much spent two days in the kitchen making white and pink divinity (grandma's recipe), homemade fudge (perfect twice!), and loads of other good stuff.

Nabisco Tries to Deny Goodies

Ok so once a year the good people over at Nabisco bring out the holiday goodie, white chocolate covered Oreos. AND every year I wait to eat them with Matt Davis. Partly cause of tradition and mostly cause I would eat them all myself. Well, this year we apparently waited alittle too late. After three different grocery store attempts we ended up at....Walmart at 10:30p.m. the night before Christmas Eve (aka Hell). Walmart too let us down, But we decided not to let them win. We made our own chocolate covered Oreos, and vowed never to purchase them from Nabisco again. Hmmmmmm

HOHO Jimbo

Christmas eve night my mom got the bright idea to partake in some wine and dress Jimbo up like Santa Clause. Santa Jimbo was the dsd (designated sleigh driver). I will admit I was a bit disappointed in my lack of an elf costume. We went around to my little cousin's houses (some not so little). The youngest ones didn't even recognize him!

On Christmas Eve Adam Tybee, Jocelyn, Corrine, and I took off for a field trip to my favorite junkin spot in Brooklet, GA. I was a trip filled with cotton fields, bad Christmas tunes, and shot guns out the windows of big trucks....ahhh Georgia. The highlight of the journey was most definitely when my passengers convinced me to stop and GO INSIDE of the creepy tree surrounded house I always pass along the way. WHAT? Amy Hahn and I have stopped there before but were not brave enough to go in. Inside we found old chairs, lots of shoes, and other creepy stuff.

Flying South for Christmas

I have never really had the experience of "going home for the holidays" until this year. Three months ago I moved from my 25 year home of Savannah, Ga to Philadelphia, PA. My new job at Maximal Art (which I will write more about later) was kind enough to let me go home for five days! Arriving in Savannah was one of the best feelings ever. My momma had made me my favorite vegitable soup (southern style) and my gradma's cornbread. Then we went straight into town to see the girls at @home and all the magical Christmas goodies there. THEN I had my first Back in the Day cupcake in three months....oh home again. The night just got better spent with one of my BFFs Jocelyn, Tybee Adam, and a new pal Corrine. We went and ate fancy Chocolate at Lulu's and then went to Pinkies. Pinkies looked so cute all decorated for Christmas. It was great to be home. Here are some of the little treasures from @home.
